The Midnight Game INSTRUCTIONS
“The Midnight Game” is an old pagan ritual used mainly as punishment for those who have broken the laws of the pagan religion in question. While it is mainly used as a scare tactic to not disobey the gods, there is still a very real chance of death to those who play the Midnight Game and there is an even higher chance of permanent mental scarring. It is highly recommended that you DO NOT PLAY THE MIDNIGHT GAME.
For those few thrill seekers searching for a rush or for those delving into obscure occult rituals, these are the simple instructions on how to play. Do so at your own risk.
PREREQUISITES: It must be exactly 12:00 AM when you begin performing the ritual, otherwise it will not work. The materials that are required include a candle, a wooden door, at least one drop of your own blood, a piece of paper, matches or a lighter, and salt. If you are playing with multiple people, they will all need their own of the aforementioned materials and will have to perform the steps below separately.
STEP ONE: Write your full name (first, middle, and last) on a piece of paper and put at least one drop of blood on the paper. Allow it to soak in.
STEP TWO: Turn off all the lights in the house. Go to your front door, which must be wooden, and place the paper with your name in front of it. Now, take the candle and light it. Place the candle on top of the paper with your name.
STEP THREE: Knock on your own door 22 times (The hour MUST be 12:00 AM upon the final knock), then open the door, blow out the candle, and close the door. You have just allowed the “Midnight Man” into your home.
STEP FOUR: Immediately relight your candle.
This is where the game begins. You must now lurk around your now completely dark house with the lit candle in hand. Your goal is to avoid the Midnight Man at all costs until exactly 3:33 AM. Should your candle ever go out, it is because the Midnight Man is near you. You must relight the candle within the next ten seconds. If you are unsuccessful in relighting the candle, you must then immediately surround yourself with a circle of salt.
If you are unsuccessful in both of these, the Midnight Man will then induce a hallucination of your greatest fear until 3:33 AM. If you are successful in relighting the candle, then you may proceed. If you are successful in creating the circle of salt, you must remain within the circle until 3:33 AM. You must continue until 3:33 AM without being attacked by the Midnight Man or being trapped within the circle of salt to win the Midnight Game. The Midnight Man will then leave at 3:33 AM and you will be safe to proceed with your morning.
Staying in one spot the entire game will only result in the Midnight Man finding you. It is HIGHLY advised that you continue moving throughout the game.
DO NOT turn on any lights during the Midnight Game.
DO NOT use a flashlight during the Midnight Game.
DO NOT go to sleep during the Midnight Game.
DO NOT use another person’s blood on your name.
DO NOT use a lighter to substitute for a candle. It will not work.
AND DEFINITELY DO NOT attempt to provoke the Midnight Man in ANY WAY.
That is all. Have fun.
Dyatlov Pass incident:
an event that resulted in the deaths of nine ski hikers in the northern Ural mountains on the night of February 2, 1959. It happened on the east shoulder of the mountain Kholat Syakhl (a Mansi name, meaning Mountain of the Dead). The mountain pass where the incident occurred has since been named Dyatlov Pass
The lack of eyewitnesses and subsequent investigations into the hikers’ deaths have inspired much speculation. Investigators at the time determined that the hikers tore open their tent from within, departing barefoot in heavy snow. Though the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue. According to sources, four of the victims’ clothing contained substantial levels of radiation. There is no mention of this in contemporary documentation; it only appears in later documents.Soviet investigators determined only that “a compelling unknown force” had caused the deaths. Access to the area was barred for skiers and other adventurers for three years after the incident. The chronology of the incident remains unclear due to the lack of survivors.
Journalists reporting on the available parts of the inquest files claim that it states:
- Six of the group members died of hypothermia and three of fatal injuries.
- There were no indications of other people nearby apart from the nine travelers on Kholat Syakhl, nor anyone in the surrounding areas.
- The tent had been ripped open from within.
- The victims had died 6 to 8 hours after their last meal.
- Traces from the camp showed that all group members left the camp of their own accord, on foot.
- To dispel the theory of an attack by the indigenous Mansi people, Dr. Boris Vozrozhdenny stated that the fatal injuries of the three bodies could not have been caused by another human being, “because the force of the blows had been too strong and no soft tissue had been damaged”.
- Forensic radiation tests had shown high doses of radioactive contamination on the clothes of a few victims.
The final verdict was that the group members all died because of a “compelling unknown force”. The inquest ceased officially in May 1959 due to the “absence of a guilty party”. The files were sent to a secret archive, and the photocopies of the case became available only in the 1990s, with some parts missing.
Thai Spirit Houses:
While a lot of cultures build their houses around spirits, Thais actually build houses for spirits. Thai spirit houses are built on the assumption that there are spirits living everywhere, including any land where you want to build a new building. Like anyone would be, they’ll be upset that you’re kicking them out of their house to build your dream home.
At some point in time, one brilliant Thai had the idea that you could build another house for them, next to yours. Then the spirits could live in the tiny spirit house and not bother you in your giant fancy people house that you built on their land.
However, some spirits seem to have a stronger sense of self-esteem. During the construction of the Grand Hyatt Erewan, the workers put up a spirit house like they always did, but apparently the spirits weren’t very happy with it, because there were a lot of accidents and problems with the hotel construction. They consulted a monk and finally replaced the spirit house with a much fancier one and everything went swimmingly, now that the spirits had a proper crib.
Reborn-Baby.com is the website of an artist who displays and sells her handcrafted baby dolls, called “Reborn Babies,” and don’t worry, folks, it’s not just a creepy name.
The glossy, dead eyes, the disturbing attention to detail — even mapping out individual veins below the skin — an unquestionably talented artist has used her gift to conquer the uncanny valley and rule it with an iron fist from atop Mount Soul-Rape in Involuntarily Urination Castle. To fully impress upon you the scale of their horror, there’s not much we can say that the images don’t scream inside of your mind with a thousand ghostly voices
The Toxic Woman:
On the evening of February 19th, 1994, Gloria Ramirez was admitted to a California emergency room, suffering from an advanced form of cancer.
When a nurse drew Gloria’s blood she detected a foul odor, so foul in fact that hospital staff started gagging and even collapsing around her. Eventually as many as 23 people were affected. The ER was evacuated and a decontamination unit brought in.
As for Gloria, she died just 40 minutes after arriving at the hospital. Her autopsy was performed by men in full hazmat moon suits and, despite one of the most extensive forensic investigations in history, it’s still not known what exactly turned this woman’s blood into toxic sludge.
The Call from Beyond the Grave:
On September 12, 2008, a California commuter train ran through a red warning light, crashing into a freight train, killing 25 people.
The family of Charles Peck, knowing he was on the train, watched the news with dread waiting for news of his fate—and then they got a call. Then another, and another, all from Charles’s cell phone.
One family member after another was called, with Charles’s cellphone sending out 35 calls in total, at which point, ghost calls or not, we’re sure they just started letting the things go to voicemail.
The police managed to find Charles’s body among the wreckage by tracking his cell phone signal, but it was not a happy reunion. Charles was dead, and to this day how those calls were sent remains a mystery.
Creepy Plants: Sea Anemone Mushroom/Octopus Stinkhorn.
They start out looking like traditional Mario-style ‘shrooms, but that’s just so they can gain your trust. Once they mature, they “erupt” their red tentacles of smelly horror to attract flies, which then transport their “gleba” to another location to reproduce, which is about the closest thing to the plot of a Lovecraft story that you’ll find in reality.
Discovered in a human body, An Entire Cutlery Store:
52-year-old Margaret Daalman, a Netherlands resident who went to the hospital complaining of crippling stomach pains. Her x-rays revealed what appeared to be a huge, dense squid.
After unzipping the woman the team found enough utensils to throw a dinner party for the United States Senate. They proceeded to remove over 78 spoons and forks, one by one.
Seventy-fucking-eight. This woman chose to swallow 50 spoons and forks.
